FAVORITE HOUSE PAINTER
It’s not just a matter of slapping fifty gallons of paint on the outside of the house. First you have to prep it, which requires chipping and sanding off all the little doohickies that have accumulated after 15 years. Then you have to give it a coat of primer paint. Then you’re allowed to put on the real paint and, if you’re lucky, another coat just to make sure the job was done right. Then you have to go around and do all the finishing work around the doors and windows. Then, hopefully, it’s beer thirty.
Fifteen different house painters were mentioned in this survey, including this year’s winner, Garrett Edmands of Edmands Uptown Paint (“The ‘P’ is for Pride”).
Other painters mentioned were:
• Derek Volkart.
• Two Stiffs Who Need Work.
• Robert Jennings.
• Josh Nevins.
